At home and away spoilers follow for Australian and UK viewers.
At home and away confirmed a dramatic and stabbing script for the soap opera that will leave Tane Parata’s life hanging in the balance, as Mackenzie Booth illegal poker night scheme threatens to escalate into tragedy.
In scenes airing this week in Australia and June in the UK, Mackenzie (Emily Weir) is still in debt to villain P.K. (Ryan Johnson) after he ripped her off for her illicit poker games and claimed she owed him $100,000.
Having been unable to spend the night with him in order to “cancel” his debt, Mac and PK are now out to exact revenge on each other – and that puts Mac in a very dangerous position, TV week reports.

“PK wants to win, control and impose himself,” said the Mac Emily star. “He’s an egomaniac who doesn’t like being told no. He wants revenge for his deception and making her suffer.”
In the new scenes, Mac and Felicity Newman (Jacqui Purvis), who host poker nights together, come up with a plan to clear Salt’s outstanding debts and get rid of PK once and for all.
Mac’s brother, Dean Thompson (Patrick O’Connor), doesn’t like the idea at all and he offers to bring in the River Boys to “deal” with the problem, but Mac is determined to do things its own way.
Mac plays with PK, planning another poker night in his honor and promising he’ll reap the benefits – but in reality, she plans to use the money to pay off her debts.

Dean’s girlfriend, Ziggy Astoni (Sophie Dillman), is listening and worried that Mac and Dean are playing a very dangerous game with PK.
The situation becomes even more tense when a PK associate named Nathan (Ryan Panizza) arrives and warns Mac that if she has a revenge plan planned, she must call it off now – as she is in grave danger.
Mac simply mocks Nathan and orders him to leave, but she later realizes she should have taken his warning seriously when two men show up and ambush Mac and Dean while they shut down Salt.
The men order the couple to drop to the ground, one brandishing a knife, before ransacking the restaurant for cash and valuables.

Meanwhile, Felicity and Tane (Ethan Browne) shut down the gym and make the fateful decision to go see Mac.
Their sudden arrival in Salt distracts the criminals and Dean manages to knock one of the men to the ground, while Tane struggles with the other. Their intervention forces the intruders to flee, but Felicity is horrified when she runs to check on her boyfriend and realizes he has been stabbed.
Tane is clearly in urgent need of medical attention, but Mac realizes that going to the hospital could expose all of his illegal actions. Felicity suggests they call Mac’s boyfriend Dr. Logan Bennett instead, but Mac knows that getting Logan (Harley Bonner) into things will get him into his illegal activity.
“There is a very real and terrifying chance that Tane could die from stab wounds,” Emily explained. “Being put in a situation where Tane needs urgent medical help, but in doing so reveals the criminal activity going on in Salt, that’s the position Mackenzie is placed in.”
Mac is faced with a huge life or death dilemma – what will she decide to do?
