The duo – who have a 27-year age gap – met in 2013 via Facebook, having no idea that was the case.
“We had to sit down and talk about it — and it might have been different if my dad had been alive,” Labbett said of when they found out about the connection.
“But while it wasn’t ideal, it wasn’t as bad as it could have been.”
Labbett and his wife welcomed a baby boy, Lawrence, before Katie began a relationship with another man – Scott Bate.
For a year, Labbett accepted the situation.
“It was about, isn’t it, how can we make this work for the sake of our son?” he explained.
“I have a lot of sympathy for Katie. She was stuck at home. What happened happened, so we had to deal with it.
“There was no room for jealousy, because it’s an entirely negative emotion. With something like pride you might be driven to achieve something, but not with jealousy.
While the marriage fell apart, Labbett and Katie are still technically married and she is the manager of his business.
Labbett said he still loved his wife but their relationship had “mutated”.

Previously speaking about her relationship, Katie told the reporter that she met Scott “by accident” at a party and the couple clicked.
“It wasn’t intentional, it just happened. But Mark always knew – from the start, I was honest,” she said, according to the shimmer.
“We remain good friends.”
Labbett echoed his wife’s sentiments in an interview with the Sun in 2020.
“When Katie first told me about her boyfriend, I had an idea,” he told the publication.
“But from the start my attitude was quite pragmatic – it was spilled milk, what could we do to make things right?”
“There was never any cheating on Katie’s part, but obviously our son mentioned Scott’s name a couple of times,” he said at the time.
Katie is no longer with Scott, while Labbett has reportedly been scouted for a UK TV show called Celebrities go meet.
The quiz show favorite has lost 63kg in the past few years.

The hunter credited his Golden Retriever named Baloo for his transformation, explaining how his dog helped him fall into a regular exercise routine.
“My wife promised me that when we first got him, she would take care of everything – feeding him, walking him, etc,” Mark began.
“It went on for about two weeks before she decided ‘Actually, Mark, look at your belly – you need some exercise!’

Talk to loose women in March 2021, Labbett also revealed that he also switched to a high protein diet.
“So eating a lot of meat and lean meat, and even though I like fries and other carbs, I have a little less than I used to,” he told the show.
“And it kind of became a virtuous circle, I’m not hungry, so you eat less, so you lose weight, so you’re not as hungry.”
