If you spent any time on the internet this weekend, you may have seen news about Bloodborne Remastered is coming to PC and PS5 in August. The announcement came from what appeared to be a widely known entertainment and gaming news account by someone by the name of nibellionwho has been on Twitter since at least May 2012. But the news was totally fake and the account, a parody of Nibellionfooled many fans into thinking that FromSoftware and Sony are working on a remaster of transmitted by blood.
Developed by FromSoftware and released in March 2015 for PS4, transmitted by blood is a Victorian-era Gothic-inspired action-RPG that has taken the world by storm. He had not the same level of commercial success as Ring of Eldenbut transmitted by blood went on to earn high marks from critics for its tight gameplay, atmospheric soundtrack, intriguing world, and Lovecraftian themes. For all purposes, transmitted by blood was a hit among the fans of the series, with people dying to return to the world of Yharnam once again even after old hunters DLC launched in November 2015.
This is what got the fake NIbellion Twitter account up and running transmitted by blood speech with fake news. On May 30, NIbellion – notice the capital “I” here – tweeted that a remastered version of transmitted by blood is coming this year. It would include “enhancements” like 60 FPS, native 4K resolution, and ray-traced reflections, with Sony affiliates Bluepoint Games and Nixxes Software collaborating on the project together.

I mean, just consider the tweet above for a moment. I already pointed out the misspelled name as a dead giveaway that this is fake news. However, if you look at the PlayStation blog link NIbellion shared next to the ad, you’ll see it’s an archive post from 2015. Clicking on the link takes you to a blog post from January 2015 on transmitted by bloodits longevity. Even before going to the PlayStation Blog, there were several signs that this NIbellion isn’t the Nibellion we know as industry insiders.
Yet because NIbellion looked like the real deal, people happily gobbled up the lie. Some said it was “greatest news ever”, while others used Morbius memes for fun to be trolled. Not everyone fell on itwith some people warn others that the news was fake. Even the real Nibellion stepped in to set the record straightsaying that he has “no transmitted by blood news” for us.
The fake NIbellion, which goes through a1 online, said Kotaku on Twitter DMs he impersonated Nibellion because his account isn’t verified and it’s easy to create a “bootleg version” of his name since it’s filled with lowercase i’s and l’s . a1 said he was not trying to start the speech. He really wanted to “bait some [his] maybe a few more followers,” but the ruse lasted longer than expected. Yet a1 said transmitted by blood was the obvious game to start a rumour.

“transmitted by blood is a game that is talked about a lot on Twitter,” said a1. “silent Hill, transmitted by bloodand ‘GTA VI‘and a few other games that are almost trending or getting a baseless rumor almost like every month, so the choice was easy for me. transmitted by bloodsince silent Hill just had a rumor, and I already made one GTA VI one, but transmitted by blood I haven’t, so I thought it would be an easy choice.
While a1 found the internet’s reaction to his tweet hilarious, he sincerely hopes another transmitted by blood is under construction.
“Well of course, who doesn’t want a sequel to one of the greatest games of the last generation,” said a1. “This was my first Fromsoftware game and I would love a sequel or even a remaster of the first one.”
As for the real Nibellion, he told Kotaku on Twitter DM that he likes to “keep a low profile” and chose not to give a more detailed response. It seems on Twitter, however, that he is at least a little disappointed by the fake account.
