Sony held a State of Play in which a number of games were announced for the PSVR 2. Here’s a look at each title confirmed for the PSVR 2.
Horizon: The Call of the Mountain
Call of the Mountain is a new game full of adventures in the world of Horizon that aims to provide players with an immersive VR experience. The beautiful world of Horizon can now be experienced “in person” as the unique experience is developed to push the new hardware technology and advancements offered by the next-gen console.
You will not play as Aloy. Instead, the story will be told through an all-new character. But don’t worry, because you’re sure to see some familiar faces on your journey through the vibrant land of Horizon.
Resident Evil 4 Remake
Resident Evil 4 Remake is supposed to release in 2023 and will have PSVR 2 support as soon as it becomes available. We’re not sure of the extent of VR support, but Resident Evil 4 Remake will have some form of PSVR 2 support.
The remake itself turned out to be a nightmarish experience. The eerie landscape and grim environment of Resident Evil 4 is unmatched even to this day. Experiencing it in VR would be unreal.
Resident Evil: Village
Next up is Resident Evil: Village. VR fans can rejoice as Resident Evil: Village will get full PSVR 2 support whenever the headset becomes available for purchase. Experience the full power of Lady Dimitrescu in VR would be interesting, to say the least.
If you’ve played Resident Evil: Village, you’d know that traversing the traumatic and extremely grotesque baby monster won’t be an enjoyable experience in VR. Good luck to those who are still ready to try it.
No Man’s Sky
No Man’s Sky already supports PSVR, but it will bring the VR experience to PSVR 2 using PS5 hardware. According to the trailer, No Man’s Sky looks absolutely stunning to play in VR. The level of detail and immersion alone will leave you in awe.
No Man’s Sky had its bad days, but the game quickly picked up. Using the PSVR 2 to play No Man’s Sky is the closest thing to exploring and surviving in space.
The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Revenge
The next chapter in the highly anticipated VR series is coming to both PSVR and PSVR 2. The complete series will be released on PSVR 2 when released.
Chapter 2 will feature a new story and gameplay improvements for PSVR 2.
Other confirmed games
In addition to the games announced during State of Play on June 2, many other games are confirmed for the new PSVR 2.
In Low-Fi, you play as a sheriff in a futuristic city filled with criminals. You can choose to be a good cop or a bad cop. The world is very immersive and cuts through how you want to approach your gameplay.
Runner is an anime-inspired motorcycle action game. It draws heavily from not only the anime, but also the original SEGA game – Road Rash. It gives off 80s vibes.
Among us VR
Now you can be an impostor in a much more immersive environment. Or explore the spaceship with your friends to figure out who the real impostor is. The game will be available on PSVR 2 when released.
Slaughterhouse of samurai
Samurai Slaughter House lets you become a samurai in a physics-based sandbox game. You can either play the game stealth or get into hacking and slashing.
PSVR 2 will launch with several great titles to keep VR gamers busy for months. It’s a great range to start with. As we go beyond the release of PSVR 2, we can expect many more games to come out, of course.
