Former MAFS candidate Domenica Calarco has gone public with a diagnosis she received after her tumultuous time in the experiment.
Married at First Sight star Domenica Calarco has revealed she was treated for PTSD after her appearance on the Channel 9 reality show.
Dom, 28, and close friend of the experience Ella Ding, 27, launched the first episode of their podcast today, sit down with usin which the pair discuss their time on reality TV and the media attention they’ve each received since.
Touching his ongoing stoush with fellow bride Olivia FrazerDom said in the months after filming, she would freak out every time she sat down with a group of people after enduring several fiery dinner parties on the show, which her therapist described as PTSD.
Her revelation came during a segment on the podcast called “headline bingo” which saw the pair dissect articles written about them.
The title in question came from a Daily mail story, “The Quarrel Married at first sight brides Domenica Calarco and Olivia Frazer offered a lot of money to fight in the boxing ring,” which Dom was quick to claim was untrue.
“Number one it says we were offered $30,000,” she began dragging her MAFS Nemesis Olivia.
“Dude, it would take a lot more for me to even consider taking an ounce of brain power to even think about it, but that’s absolutely wrong. I don’t want to be in the same room as her, much less in a boxing ring.
Ella added: “Can you imagine? That would be scary… She’d give you scary eyes,” to which Dom agreed that she was “afraid” of Olivia.
“I actually get scared when I see a picture of her…It brings back PTSD of her sitting across from me.
“As rightfully, for some time after MAFSsitting at any table that was like a dinner table or a table where I had to have a conversation, I would legitimately freak out, because I’d be like ‘Who’s gonna start shit, who’s gonna say something,’” he said. she said, adding that her therapist told her it was a traumatic response to the experience.
“I completely had PTSD, my therapist fully says I’m going through PTSD, so it’s real.”
Elsewhere in the first episode of the Dom and Ella podcast, the pair discussed Ella and former ‘husband’ Mitch Eynaud’s scandalous split, which came amid rumors of a ‘couple swap’ and questions about Mitch’s wandering eye during the show.
Whereas Mitch and mate MAFS star Tamara Djordjevic plugged in after filming, Ella closed rumors that she had teamed up with Brent Vitielloadmitting that although they came up with the idea in February, it didn’t get past the friendship stage.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the reality stars’ podcast, which promises to unpack the friends’ lives after MAFScovering everything from dating to everyday life.
The couple quickly became fan favorites in the final season, with viewers impressed with Ella’s support of Dom during her clash with Olivia, which reached a crescendo when Dom smashed a wine glass against a table during the couple’s retreat. In a move which caused outrage among viewersOlivia retaliated by sharing a nude photo of Dom behind her back.
Since the season aired, Dom has signed with best celebrity agent SF Managementwhich represents top Australian stars like Karl Stefanovic and Phoebe Burgess.
The reality star is also enjoying the successes of her recent partnership with Showpo, with influencers love the 50-piece collection.
Meanwhile, Olivier raised money on his new OnlyFans page, earn $10,000 in the first 12 hours. His Television Husband Jackson Lonie also joined the X-rated content platform, leaving fans suspicious about their recent cheating saga, calling it a “publicity stunt”.
