In January last year, the pop star announced that he was cut ties with Hillsong Church – Next The dismissal of famous pastor Carl Lentz of Australia’s megachurch in November 2020 for a series of “moral failures”.
The Canadian musician – who was christened by Mr Lentz in an NBA player’s bathtub in 2014 – has set the record straight after reports emerged he was studying to become a “full minister” at Hillsong.
“I’m not studying to be a minister or anything like that,” Bieber wrote in all caps on a screenshot of an article, titled, “Justin Bieber reportedly studying to be a minister at Hillsong Church.”
“Have no desire for it. This is fake news.

“For clarity, I’m part of Churchome.”
Bieber revealed his diagnosis of Ramsay Hunt Syndrome over the weekend in response to fans frustrated by the cancellation of broadcasts from his Justice World Tour.
“It’s because of this virus attacking the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves and causing paralysis in my face,” he said in a video posted to his Instagram account on Saturday.
“As you can see, this eye is not blinking. I can’t smile on this side of my face; this nostril will not move. So there is complete paralysis on that side of my face.”
Bieber told fans the condition made them “physically, obviously, unable” to perform.
“It’s quite serious, as you can see. I wish it wasn’t, but obviously my body is telling me I need to slow down,” he said.
“I hope you understand. I’m going to use this time to rest and relax and get back to 100% so I can do what I was born to do.
He revealed that he was working on facial exercises to regain his health.
Ramsay Hunt syndrome is a rare neurological disorder characterized by facial paralysis, or palsy, often accompanied by a rash affecting the ear or mouth. According to the National Organization for Rare Disorders, approximately five out of every 100,000 people in the United States will develop RHS each year.
The syndrome, first described in 1907 by Dr James Ramsay Hunt, is caused by infection with the varicella-zoster virus – the same that causes chickenpox and shingles, meaning anyone who has had the one of these diseases could also contract RHS.
The past few months have been difficult for the Bieber family.
Hailey, Justin’s wife was hospitalized in March after doctors detected a small blood clot in his brain. The model later explained that she suffered a mini-stroke due to a small hole in her heart from which the clot traveled to her brain.
She underwent surgery to close the hole.
