The 2022 Logies are here: here’s how to watch

The 62nd TV Week Logie Awards are taking place tonight at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Center in Queensland.

COVID-19 has brought the awards ceremony to a halt, so it has been two years since Australia’s big night on television was last celebrated.

That’s what you need to know.

Red carpet action

To capture all the glitz and glamor of the red carpet, coverage will air live starting at 7 p.m.

Red carpet hosts Leila McKinnon, David Campbell and Renee Bargh will offer everything from dresses, fashion and guests.

Where to watch the Logies?

The Logies will air on Channel Nine and stream on 9Now.

It will begin at 7:00 p.m. AEST with red carpet arrivals.

The ceremony itself will begin at 7:30 p.m. AEST.

The ABC will be blogging all the action live from the evening.

Who is nominated for the Gold Logie?

The Gold Logie is the biggest accolade of the night and is awarded to Australia’s most popular television personality.

Here are this year’s nominees:

  • Hamish Blake (LEGO Masters Australia)

  • Julia Morris (I’m a Celebrity‚ĶGet Me Out of Here!)

  • Karl Stefanovic (Today, 60 Minutes)

  • Melissa Leong (MasterChef Australia, Celebrity MasterChef Australia)

  • Ray Meagher (home and away)

  • Tom Gleeson (hard quiz)

  • Sonia Kruger (Big Brother, Holey Moley, Dancing with The Stars: All Stars, The Voice, The Voice Generations)

Tom Gleeson, host of the difficult quiz won the Gold Logie as most popular personality on Australian television and has been the defending champion since the Logies last aired in 2019.

Goodbye Neighbors: A Tribute

Residents of Ramsay Street will attend Les Logies for the last time this year.

The Neighbors filmed their final scenes this month after 37 years.

The show has been a launching pad for so many Australian talents, including Kylie Minogue, Margot Robbie, Guy Pearce and Delta Goodrem.

Bert Newton honored

This year, the first Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter will be awarded.

The late presenter was himself a four-time Gold Logie winner. Bert has become synonymous with The Logie Awards, Host it a total of 20 times and achieve 15 wins.

The award will be presented by Bert’s wife, Patti.

Who hosts the Logies?

Officially, nobody.

But comedian Tony Martin will return, along with an array of TV personalities from all networks, including Mel B, Hamish and Andy, ABC’s Melissa Leong and Leigh Sales, Tony Armstrong, Jeremy Fernandez, David Speers and many more. .

Logie Awards performances to follow

Confirmed acts include Jimmy Barnes, who will be backed by his 12-piece band, and Jessica Mauboy with the first TV performance of her new single, Automatic.

Platinum singer and British pop star Calum Scott will perform new songs from his upcoming album Bridges.

Outside the ballroom there will be live performances from The Rogue Traders, Lachie Gill, Gaudion and Sofia Isella and Lionette.
