Julia Morris says each of the male nominees has already won the Gold Logie

Here is what she said:

“Our gold nominees tonight are very deserving hard-working people. Let me point out that each of the men’s gold nominees has already won the Logie d’or.”

“The magnificent Ray Meagher won the Gold Logie in 2010. We have Hamish Blake who won his gold medal in 2012. And of course we’re not legally allowed to talk about when Tom Gleeson won The Logies. “

The important event

The show has started

Gold Logie nominee Julia Morris is the evening’s first presenter. She wears a navy suit and hot pink sneakers after her heel broke earlier.

“What kind of night do we have when they let a loose unit like me open the show,” she said.

We have winners from over 20 categories to announce and a bunch of live performances coming up tonight.

Home and Away’s Ray Meagher says he thinks he’s “making numbers” in the Gold Logie category this year, but he’s happy to be back at the awards.

“It’s great to catch people up and this year more than any other year we haven’t played for a few years,” he said.

“It’s great to reunite and catch up with old friends. Great to have the show back on the road.”

Leigh Sales says she voted for Hamish Blake to win

7:30 am host Leigh Sales is up for the Gold Logie tonight, but even she admits she voted for another host.

“I think if I won it would be proof that the Logies are rigged. Because even I voted for Hamish Blake,” she said.

“If I’m more popular than Hamish Blake, that would be very strange. But it’s nice to be nominated.”

By Shiloh Payne

The important event

Who hosts the Logies?

Officially, nobody.

But comedian Tony Martin will return, accompanied by a line-up of television personalities from all networks, including Mel B, Hamish and Andy, Melissa Leong and ABC’s Leigh Sales, Tony Armstrong, Jeremy Fernandez, David Speers and much more.
