This week in Games Australia: Fire Emblem Warriors breaks the mid-year drought

We’ve all got used to it, we’re on the other side of Keigh-3 and the video game release dates are starting to flow again.

This week sees fall guys play free-to-play, Naraka: Blade tip comes to Xbox, Sound origins rotate the dashes on the shelves, and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes gives us an excuse to fall in love with the Three Houses all over again.

June 21st

Fall Guys: Free for All (XSX, XBO)

I only added Xbox as a platform there, but that’s only because fall guys‘ The free-to-play debut will mark its arrival on the Xbox platform. The game will be free on all platforms it is currently available on.

Farming Simulator 19: Ambassador Edition (PS4, XBO)

If you wonder why the hell Farming Sim 19 gets another retail release, it’s because the 2019 edition is considered a fan favorite. If you like farming simulatoror you just need to plug a hole in your gaming shelf full of conversation starters, here’s your chance.

Shadowrun Trilogy: Console Edition (NS, PS4, XBO)

Remasters of the three classics shadow run the games are coming to consoles this week. These titles rank among the best classic CRPG games and feature the much-loved science-fantasy Shadowrun TTRPG campaign setting. If you’ve never played it before, now is the perfect time to get started.

Shipwreck Party (BORN.)

Another retail re-release, this time for the Switch. Shipwreck Party is great fun and well worth a look if you haven’t played it.

June 23

Highway Police Simulator 3 (PS5, PS4)

For those who feel the need for completely legal speed, now you can chase down criminals on the fastest stretch of highway in the world.

Naraka: Bladepoint (XSX)

The popular battle royale title is coming to Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass. 60 players fall on an island, they are all martial arts gods and pandemonium reigns. One thing to know: Naraka: Bladepoint does not currently have any OCE servers. It might be about the change with the Game Pass drop, but just something to keep in mind if you try it this weekend: there might be a lag.

Sound origins (PS5, XSX, PC, NS, PS4, XBO)

The latest in a long line of classics Sonic collectionssonic Origins contains sonic the hedgehog 1 and 2, Sonic 3 and Knucklesand sonic cd. Much has been done ahead of the launch of the game’s extremely weird pre-order content, although it looks like what’s actually in the package are the games you remember, along with a few new modes. Birthday Mode, for example, expands games to fit widescreens and grants infinite lives.

Tour de France 2022 (PS5, XSX, PC, PS4, XBO)

I’m absolutely punk about it Tour de France thing now. The third week in a row, its release date was pushed back at the last minute.

June 24

Capcom Battle Collection (PC, NS, PS4, XBO)

This is a collection of 10 classic Capcom fighting games across street fighter, Dark Stalkersand Super puzzle fighter.

Fire Emblem Heroes: Three Hopes (BORN.)

Probably the biggest release of the week. The latest in Nintendo’s partnership with Koei-Tecmo on Musou games, Fire Emblem Heroes: Three Hopes is a canonical prequel to Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Although the tutorial takes place during the characters’ time at the Officers’ Academy, the main campaign follows Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude to war.

It will be the second Fire Emblem Warriors game and will be a must-have for those who are still obsessed with the FH: TH crew. Obviously, Musou games are a different beast from the slower mainline turn-based strategy. fire emblem franchise. Although strategy plays a part in every Musou game, the joy of the genre comes from wading through an incredibly large group of enemies and destroying them with outsized melee attacks.

We won’t have a review code handy until launch day, so we’ll be jumping into this one this weekend with you all.

Pokemon Snap (BORN.)

One of the most beloved oddities in Nintendo’s long and storied library. A game that left such an indelible mark on a generation of gamers that they stalked Nintendo in a 20-year sequel. It’s coming in the Nintendo Switch Online expansion pack.
