MacBook Pro M2 models are starting to arrive at customers who pre-ordered the machine last Friday, and new MacBook Pro owners will likely soon share their experiences with the updated M2 chip on the MacRumors forums, Twitter and other social networks.
New Zealand does not have an Apple Store, so Australian customers will be the first to be able to purchase a MacBook Pro M2. The stock in Australia will give us an idea of what we might expect from other stores around the world. A spot check shows MacBook Pro M2 models available for purchase at several stores in Australia, but custom configurations with unified memory and upgraded SSDs are unlikely to be available in stores.
After New Zealand and Australia, MacBook Pro sales will begin in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and then North America.
The 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro features the same design as the previous generation model, and the M2 chip is the only upgrade. The M2 chip features the same 8-core processor as the M1but with an upgraded nine- or ten-core GPU.
